Signs your furnace may need service:
Furnace blowing cold air
Your furnace has got one job. If it’s not blowing warm air then it needs attention. Just make sure your thermostat is set properly. If it is, and the furnace is still not keeping up with the cold temps, let’s take a look.
Turning on and off (cycling quickly)
If your furnace is turning on and then quickly shutting off, it could be several reasons. Often this issue is a result of an airflow or thermostat problem. However, it could be something else, and a diagnostic service visit is needed.
Won’t turn on
If your furnace won’t turn on, and you’ve checked the unit’s thermostat and power, then it’s time to call us. We are standing by to help you stay warm all season long.
Weak airflow
Could you not blow it off? If you’re not getting strong airflow from your vents, the problem could be a fan belt or motor.
Loud or strange noises
A bang. A scrape. A red flag. If your furnace is making loud or unusual sounds, it could be a good indicator of an issue with a component critical to its performance. Don’t overlook this warning sign that could save you hundreds in repairs.
Burning or Gas smell
Older furnaces are prone to leaks or inefficient use of fuel. This unspent fuel could be what you’re smelling. It also could be venting improperly. If you are concerned by something you smell, contact us immediately.
Before You Call
Here are some common things to check before you call us.
Thermostat working properly
It sounds simple, but we see it a lot. If your thermostat is set to heat and is working, yet your house is not as comfortable as you would like, it’s time to schedule a visit.
Pilot light on?
Most older units rely on a pilot light to work properly. If your pilot light won’t light or is working but the furnace isn’t heating properly, you may need our help.
